Influenster Maple Voxbox
After being an Influenster member for a while now, I finally received my very first VoxBox in the mail back in December!
Now a little background information on the company, Influenster, that is behind these VoxBoxes. Influenster is an up and coming web community that connects consumers with brands and products via social media. Members of the website have higher chances of being chosen to participate in VoxBox programs by unlocking Expert Badges that relate to your interests or social media activity.
What exactly is a VoxBox? Well, it may remind you of monthly subscription boxes that you pay a set price every month to receive a box of products but with two key differences. First of all, it is sent filled with complimentary goodies! Secondly, the VoxBox program doesn't send a box out on a month to month basis. Instead, Influenster will choose eligible members that fit with a certain themed VoxBox.
For myself, I was eligible for the first Canadian VoxBox, the Maple VoxBox!
Here are the contents of the box, clockwise from the top left corner:
Montagne Jeunesse Clay Spas
This contained a single sheet mask made of natural bamboo fabric and infused with clay. Other than the fact that the mask was humongous on my face, I did enjoy the cool, soothing effect of the clay when I applied the mask.
NYC New York Color Big Bold Curl Mascara
The packaging is very reminiscent of CoverGirl's LashBlast mascara while the wand is curvy and on the thicker side. The product itself claims to provide 12x the volume and 99% more lift, which I do think that the mascara lived up to. This definitely is worth the try for the inexpensive price!
Skinny Cow Milk Chocolate Dreamy Clusters
Who doesn't love a chocolatey treat? These were a perfect combination of crunchy crisps, creamy caramel and milk chocolate to top it off. If only there were more than just four pieces.... but that's just my stomach speaking.
Skinny Cow Milk Chocolate Flavour Heavenly Crisp
This chocolate bar consists of layers of wafer and chocolate creme, finished with a chocolate coating. While I preferred the Dreamy Clusters, the chocolate bar makes a great low calorie alternative at only 100 calories per bar.
Ice Breakers DUO
With a two sided mint and fruit flavour, these aren't your typical ice breakers. Perfect for those who enjoy the fruity flavors of ice breakers but still want that fresh breath. I definitely enjoyed these and would buy them myself without a second thought.
NYC New York Color Big Bold Plumping Lip Gloss
The lip gloss claims to plump your lips up to 50% fuller while providing a high gloss finish. Did it live up to expectations? No, which is absolutely fine by me since I do already have pretty full lips myself. Overall, not a bad lip gloss, but not one I would recommend if you are specifically looking for a lip plumping product.
Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-On Manicure
First of all, I was extremely impressed by the unique packaging. The lid unscrews like a nail polish bottle but the bottle itself opens up like a case. Very cute! I also thought that this product is quite simple to use, with an easy peel off and press on process. Unfortunately, none of the nail sizes fit correctly to my own nails so I did not get a proper chance to try this out. It is definitely a hit or miss type of product.
